Burton Joyce Archers run beginners courses twice a year in July/August.
The course is three sessions of two hours each and costs £60.00. No previous archery experience is necessary and we can usually accommodate about 12 beginners per course. All equipment is provided and all of our instructors are qualified Archery GB coaches. When you have completed the course you will be presented with a certificate and you can then join our club or any other AGB certified club.

Archery can be a potentially hazardous sport, all new archers must attend a beginner’s course and complete a minimum of six hours training before they can join an AGB club.
If you are interested in attending a Beginners Course please send us an email and your name will be added to the list for the next course. We will then contact you with more details closer to the date.
Juniors
We can accept Juniors (ten years old and older) on our Beginners Courses but we require that the parent or guardian attends the course with their child.
Next Beginners Course
Our next beginners course is tentatively scheduled for July 2027; all courses run from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. over three consecutive weeks (usually on Wednesday evenings). To pass the course, you will need to attend all three dates.

Terms & Conditions
- To secure your place, full payment must be paid seven days before the course commences, cost is £60.00 per person.
- Juniors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must also attend all the sessions.
- We only accept Juniors of ten years old and older.
- Candidates should be aware that it may be necessary on occasion to touch arms and shoulders to correct stance. The coach will ask before doing so.
- As with all sports, personal injuries can happen, every effort is made to ensure that this does not occur. With this knowledge you do this training course at your own risk.
- Burton Joyce Archers will not be liable for claims for injury as a result of this course.

Details of payment are within the application form which will be sent to you once you have agreed to sign up for the course.
